Six different teachings of magic were taught through generations. They were Conjuration, Destruction, Necromancy, Spiritual, Restoration, and Illusion.
Conjuration is the teaching of creation that is used to make food, water, resources of metal, wood, or any other. This is the most basic magic, and the most widely practiced, because it's greatly needed for the progress of towns, or villages.
Destruction is one of the forbidden teachings, because it has been misused by evil souls. However, some people of kind souls have been given the privilege to learn only the good benefits of fire.
Necromancy is the other forbidden teachings, because the fear of misuse for the dead, and other uses that could prove the elimination of mankind. There has been some reports of small groups of people that practice Necromancy.
Spiritual powers were taught among a very strong willed group. They were believed to control the lingering spirits of humans and animals, and assist them into the world beyond. They are also one of the most powerful teachings of magic, because they had the power to control, summon, or "dismiss" a spirit, or guardian, within a living body.
Restoration is the one of the most used magic, and used in hospitals and medicial uses. Restoration gives the user to heal wounds, injuries, and any near fatal problems, however, weak users can not preform heavy tasks, for it could put both the user, and the patient to a dangerous situation.
Illusion is a limited use of magic, because it could endanger the mental stabilities of a weak mind. However, the benefits of this teaching of magic is the fact that, with Spiritual, it could be used for story tellings, and is practiced for guards that protect the villages and towns from evil spirits. People can get rather creative with this magic...
A person, if good or evil, will have a stronger understanding and power of certain magics. Like, per say, if a person is purely good, they would be the strongest in Conjuration, Spiritual, and Restoration. A person of purely evil intentions would be the strongest in Destruction, Necromancy, and a little of Illusion. Neutral could go to everyone, and they are pretty balanced out.
* Keep in mind that, in the hands of a mastermind, and a professional, the weakest magic could become the strongest, and vica versa.
Availabilities of Elemental Magics:
Above are the basic four elements, following the other minor categories falling under each element.
The rule is that someone must pick only two elements, and they can not be conflicting. You are allowed a major element (Like Fire), then a minor sub-element (Like Lightning.).
Such as Fire and Ice, Fire and Water, Wind and Earth, all of those are conflicting elements, and should not be able to be controlled by one person, as it can conjure a lot of physical and mental issues.
However, Water and Wind, Water and Earth, Wind and Fire are examples of elements that do not conflict.
